Recently Disneyland has been establishing a pattern of rewarding Annual Passholders by holding special month-long events called “AP Days” during the off-season, perhaps to offset the unusually large number of attractions that are down this year for construction and refurbishment.
Throughout the month of September the Disneyland Resort is offering the first AP Days since February, and even though it’s a little smaller in scale than the previous iteration (this one is only taking place in Disney California Adventure rather than in both parks at the resort), it’s still a nice bit of added value.
WATCH AP DAYS OVERVIEW:
Like last time, Disney California Adventure has two areas set up for AP Days: one in Hollywood Land and one in Paradise Gardens (in lieu of the Blue Sky Cellar, which currently remains shuttered for unknown reasons.) Annual Passholder guests can grab free buttons, nifty pamplets with new scavenger hunt-esque puzzles to solve each week, and wait in line for exclusive character meet-and-greets. Unfortunately this time around, that particular queue is out in the sun, so get there early if you want to meet Wizard Donald or whoever next week’s surprise guest happens to be.
WATCH WIZARD DONALD MEET-AND-GREET:
Also available are outdoor cooking demonstrations put on by Disneyland’s talented chefs, and displays of the Disneyland Halloween and exclusive AP Days merchandise offerings available around the parks.
WATCH PUMPKIN BREAD COOKING DEMONSTRATION:
It’s unfortunate that Disneyland wasn’t able to incorporate the nightly screenings at Main Street’s Opera House into this month’s AP Days, as it was a nice treat to be able watch some archival Disney videos while inside the park itself. But otherwise, AP Days remains a minor but welcome bonus for guests who ponied up for an Annual Pass this year.
