Halloween fans in Southern California must mark their calendars for the return of ScareLA, a new convention celebrating haunted attractions.

Last year’s debut eventĀ overlapped with Disney’s D23 Expo, making it impossible for theme park junkees to see both. Yet it still managed to attract more thanĀ 4,000 passionate Halloween fans, professionals and members of the media.

This year ScareLA stands on its own, bringing even more eerie entertainment to downtown Los Angeles onĀ August 9 and 10, 2014 at The Reef (formerly known as LA Mart).

The event celebrates the West Coastā€™s Halloween, haunt, and horror community and fans with exclusive presentations, industry panels, hands-on workshops, onsite attractions and an exhibitor show floor.

The conventionā€™s lineup of presentations will feature sneak previews and behind-the-scenes looks at the most anticipated Halloween events in the region includingĀ Universal Studios Hollywoodā€™s Halloween Horror Nights,Ā Knottā€™s Halloween Haunt,Ā Los Angeles Haunted Hayride,Ā The Great Horror Campout,Ā The Queen Maryā€™s Dark HarborĀ and more than 30 of the top scare attractions in the Southwest.

In addition,Ā ScareLAĀ focuses on engaging attendees with interactive and educational experiences with the nationā€™s best haunt and horror professionals and artists in hands-onĀ workshops, demonstrations and classesĀ includingĀ make-up, costuming, pumpkin carving, and Halloween party tips.

Limited-time presale tickets are now available for purchase on the conventionā€™s website, with a 30% savings available using code PRESCARE. Ā To purchase tickets, for more information, and exhibitor inquiries, visitĀ www.scarela.com.

The event is produced in partnership byĀ CreepyLA,Ā GENIEEffectĀ andTheme Park Adventure, with national-level support from of the best makers, Halloween artists, haunt pros, haunted attraction owners and operators.

We’ll be covering all the terror-ific fun at ScareLA and hope to see you there.
