Review: Frozen Beauty Collection from Walgreens

Walgreens has in recent months been releasing these Limited Edition Disney collection in partnership with E.L.F. Cosmetucs, Ardell Lashes, Orly and Soho NYC Makeup bags. Previous collections have highlighted Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine and a Sleeping Beauty/Maleficent. Now it is the Ice Queen herself Elsa’s turn. In a stunning icy colored packaging you will find everything to create that “Frozen” look.

As a huge fan of Disney beauty products it’s really nice to see some products in the more affordable category as both Disney’s own brand “Beautifully Disney” and Disney’s collaboration with MAC Cosmetics are pretty pricey. But make no mistake, even though these products are more affordable doesn’t mean they shrink on quality. Especially the cheek and eyeshadow palette both deliver high quality color payoff . Lets check out the collection a little  more closely.

You can find the Elsa beauty collection in select Walgreens stores and HERE

The Ardell Limited Edition Disney Elsa lash set features two sets of lashes, one for more natural set and one a little more unique with blue color. Ardell lashes is one of the best in the business and this set also comes with their highly regarded lash glue. I can really see myself wearing the blue-colored lashes for adding some extra fun to my makeup routine.

Next up we have the E.L.F. Cosmetics Elsa eyeshadow palette that features 9 different eyeshadows in light to dark colors. This is the perfect palette for creating that “Elsa” eye look and it comes with both highlight colors and greens and purples. The color pay off is really good but they do require some blending so make sure you have a good blending brush handy. My favorite part about this palette is that you can create a both a more natural daytime look and a smoky evening eye look.

The E.L.F. Cosmetics Face/Cheek palette is a great mix of a blush, highlighter and bronzer. All three has a silky texture to them but are quite sheer. For someone who is fair-skinned like me they give a nice glow but I worry that darker skin tones will not get enough color pay off. The combination work really well together though and is definitely one of the standouts from the collection.

Up next is something quite new and I have never seen this product apart of any collection before, the E.L.F. Cosmetics Elsa smudge pot in the color Let it Go. This product is a little bit of a mystery as it is labeled as both a cream eyeshadow and a liner. The frosty pink color works well as a cream eyeshadow but as a liner it doesn’t really show up at all. Unfortunately this cream eyeshadow creased pretty quickly and if there was one thing I would skip from the collection it would be this.

e.l.f. Disney Elsa Icing Eye Shadow & Eyeliner Let it Go $4.99

Last but not least we have to bright and fruity Elsa lipglosses. The squeeze tube packaging gives me sentimental feelings about the Lancome Juicy Tubes I coveted as a teenager but these definitely have a more affordable price. Even though they look bright in the tube they go on with a sheer wash of color so don’t be afraid to try them. My only caveat would be that I was hoping for some more icy colors for an Elsa collection.
