Every year Christmas starts in July for Hallmark with their Keepsake Ornament collection. This year Gringotts Wizarding bank represents the wizarding world of Harry Potter.
The three-story wobbly grey building, home to the goblin bank, is vexed by the large, recently freed Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon perched upon its upper dome. While the dragon in this detailed tree trimmer does not breathe fire, the building can be illuminated by inserting a single bulb from a strand of Christmas tree lights into the back of the ornament.
“Accio excitement! HARRY POTTER™ fans will remember that the dragon made his fantastic escape from the Gringotts Wizarding Bank with Harry, Ron and Hermione in HARRY POTTER™ AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2. Featuring the dragon perched atop the goblin-run bank, this Christmas ornament lets you add a magical twist to your holidays—simply attach to a light string on your tree to illuminate the windows.” – Hallmark website
This iconic scene from J.K. Rowland’s Harry Potter mythos is a double delight for Potter fans. Not only does this collectable represent an exciting event from the books and films, it serves as the centerpiece of Universal’s Diagon Alley theme park adventure.
You can relive this escape from Gringotts when Hallmark releases its 2017 line of Keepsake Ornaments on July 15th. The HARRY POTTER Gringotts Wizarding Bank Ornament will cost $24.95 in MACUSA dollars when it’s freed this summer.
