Haunted Mansion animated TV special announced for Disney Channel, Disney XD inspired by Disneyland ride

Disney has announced (via the Hollywood Reporter) an animated TV special is being created based on Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion attraction in honor of its 45th anniversary.

For Disney Channel and Disney XD, the animated special will feature art from illustrator Gris Grimly, writing from Phineas and Ferb’s Scott Peterson. Joshua Pruett (Phineas and Ferb) will also consult as producer and writer.

In addition three new Disney XD pilots are in production: Billy Dilley’s Super Duper Subterranean Summer, Very Important House, and Douglas Furs.

    Well this is pretty exciting news. It would be nice if Disney got back in to the animated Halloween specials. My brother and I grew up on those and it would be great to make some new memories with his son by having some new Halloween specials.

      Same here, my brothers and I grow up with this kind of tv shows, it would be awesome to watch some stuff like that again

  2. OMG! This is great news! Just short of a stop-motion film by Henry Selick,an animated Halloween special is the sort of thing I want to see with the Haunted Mansion!
