With Walt Disney World‘s very first Marvel superheroes-based attraction already under construction at EPCOT, any tiny tidbit of information is always welcome on the still-unnamed “Guardians of the Galaxy” attraction replacing Universe of Energy / Ellen’s Energy Adventure in the Park’s Future World area.

Today at D23 Expo Japan 2018, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek revealed a few more details for the highly-anticipated new ride. Though it has been confirmed once again to be a roller coaster, it was emphasized during the Parks and Resorts presentation that the attraction will be family-oriented.

However, just because it’s suitable for kids doesn’t mean it can’t be state-of-the-art. Chapek also announced that EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy attraction would feature a “brand-new innovation ride system” and, after opening, will become “one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world!”

While no opening date has been announced for the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, knowing just a bit more about it will certainly make the wait more tolerable. More news from the Disney Parks and Resorts presentation at D23 Expo Japan 2018 is coming very soon!
