Select Walt Disney World Resort guests can purchase extra FastPasses starting this month

Starting on Friday, January 12, Walt Disney World is offering club-level and other select resort guests the chance to purchase extra FastPasses.

As part of a pilot program being tested by Disney, guests staying on the club level floor at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, or Disney’s Polynesian Resort Bungalows can buy three additional FastPasses for $50 a day per person. The FastPasses can be used at any park.

The new service requires a three-day minimum stay, so this can easily add up to a very pricey vacation. For example, club-level resort room prices vary but are currently in the $600+ per night range — not including the additional $50 a day per person for the extra FastPasses.

In addition, this program lets resort guests book FastPasses 90 days in advance instead of the usual 60 days. FastPasses for popular attractions can be tough to get even 60 days advance, making this perk a big enticement to participate in the pilot program.

Club-level resort guests also receive premium, reserved seating for any of the nighttime spectaculars at any of the parks. It’s not clear if guests need to choose events in advance.

This is not the first time Walt Disney World has offered extra FastPasses. In the past, guests who toured Disney Vacation Club or purchased certain vacation packages have been offered additional FastPass selections.

There’s no word on how long this program will be in effect, but if it proves to be a success, it may stick around for good.
