Morimoto Asia to expand outside of Walt Disney World with new Hawaiian Resort location

in Food, Hotel, Travel

Morimoto Asia just celebrated its two-year anniversary at Disney Springs in the fall, and now the restaurant is expanding outside of Walt Disney World.

Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto will open two new restaurants at Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach in December 2017. Morimoto Asia Waikiki will be the resort’s signature restaurant, showcasing Chef Morimoto’s unique take on Pan-Asian cuisine. The dinner-only menu features a variety of flavors from China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and other regions of Asia with the Morimoto touch. Signature dishes include Peking duck, sticky ribs, lo mein, Korean kalbi, dim sum and traditional wok fry dishes such as kung pao chicken and Thai lobster chow fun.

Located on the second floor of the resort, Morimoto Asia Waikiki gives guests an interactive culinary experience with a glass-encased exhibition kitchen.

For a casual breakfast, lunch, and dinner option, guests can visit Momosan Waikiki on the street level of the resort. Noodles take center stage here with options like onkotsu ramen, Tokyo chicken ramen, tantan and tsukemen. The restaurant will also serve up small plates and appetizers including tetsunabe pork gyoza, crispy mimiga (Japanese fried pig ears), buta kimchi and Chef Morimoto’s signature take on garlic shrimp; innovative salads and classic izakaya style rice dishes; and yakitori including salmon and duck.

The menu also features 20 sake options with six Morimoto signature sake, red and white wines, draught and bottled beer including Japanese-style lager, three Morimoto signature beers in collaboration with Rouge Ales, and a rotating local Hawaiian brew.

Momosan Waikiki joins the New York City location, which opened in 2016.
