Atlanta Braves leaving Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports after 2018 Spring Training

Since it opened way back in 1997, ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World has been the Spring Training home of the Atlanta Braves. After more than 20 years at the complex, the Braves will be leaving.

It was announced this week that the Braves will be leaving ESPN Wide World of Sports after their 2018 Spring training, and they have found a new home in North Port, Florida.

Commissioners in North Port have approved a brand new $100 million-dollar complex for the Braves to call their new Spring Training home.

Disney celebrated 20 years of the Atlanta ball club playing their exhibition games at ESPN Wide World of Sports this past March.

With the Braves leaving, 2018 will be the last year for any Major League Baseball team to play their Spring Training games in the Orlando area.
