The Orlando-based company Falcon’s Creative Group is part of a new immersive experience in Times Square.

National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey uses groundbreaking technology to bring guests on an immersive underwater journey. The experience brings visitors across the Pacific Ocean and face-to-face with digital sharks, humpback whales and more.

The New York-based entertainment developer SPE Partners were working with National Geographic, and SPE brought Falcon’s on board to collaborate on the design. Falcon’s has previous experience in the creation of themed entertainment experiences for Universal Studios and Marvel, among others, but this is the first time they’ve worked in New York City.

National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey is housed in a 60,000-square-foot venue at 226 W 44th Street. The attraction uses video-mapping, mega projection screens, photo-real animation and interactive audience tracking to make visitors feel like they’re under the ocean, all while staying dry. Guests mingle with a variety of virtual underwater creatures during the 90-minute walkthrough experience, which concludes inside a 40-foot dome.

The experience opens on October 6 and is recommended for ages 6 and up. Ticket prices: $39.50 for adults; $36.50 for seniors (65+); $32.50 for children (12 and under). To book tickets, head over to the National Geographic website.
