After all the recent behind-the-scenes turmoil on Lucasfilm’s upcoming untitled stand-alone Han Solo movie set in the “Star Wars” universe, it’s nice to get some good news about the project that’s likely to stick.
Today Disney announced that John Powell, composer of the score for all three “How to Train Your Dragon” movies (among, many, many others), will be writing the musical score for the latest “Star Wars” spinoff, which is currently in production under new director Ron Howard.
Powell was born in England and is also known for his work on “Rio,” “The Bourne Identity,” and “Shrek,” plus more than seventy other films. he was nominated for the Academy Award in 2011 for Best Original Score for his work on “How to Train Your Dragon.”
The untitled Han Solo movie is still scheduled for release on May 18th, 2018.
