Universal Studio’s new wearable TapuTapu technology will offer many benefits to guests of the new Volcano Bay water park.

The wristband aims to eliminate the need for guests to wait in long lines and it will also contain a few interactive surprises that guests can experience throughout the park.

WATCH – TAPUTAPU INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS:

The interactive wearable works as a timer that alerts you when it is your turn to experience a ride. There is no standby line at all. Your only options at Volcano Bay are to use the Tapu technology or to purchase an Express Pass which gives you immediate entrance to any attraction.

When we used the Tapu technology firsthand on opening day, we found the system was not quite perfected yet.

We still had to wait in a few lines before getting on some of the attractions, but the wait was minimal. Others we spoke with had difficulty utilizing the TapTu Pay feature. And on top of all that, many of the new rides were shutting down unexpectedly throughout the day, causing lines to back up elsewhere.

While the system is not fully operational now, it’s clear the system will greatly enhance the park experience – once the opening day kinks are worked out.

As we previously reported, TapuTapu will feature many similar and different capabilities to Walt Disney World’s Magic Band system. Some other capabilities of the new wristband will include the ability to open lockers and to make cash-free payments.

If you want to experience this new wearable technology at Volcano Bay, be sure to purchase tickets on Universal’s Volcano Bay page.
