There have been a lot of announcements about release dates for Disney films. Release dates for “Star Wars Episode IX,” “Indiana Jones 5,” and “Frozen 2” were all revealed today, and here is one more. Jon Favreau has revealed the opening date for the live-action adaptation of “The Lion King.” July 19, 2019 marks the day it will debut in theaters, and it won’t be a moment too soon.

The 1994 animated classic is one that ranks high in the archives of Disney animation. And with the success of “The Jungle Book” under the direction of Jon Favreau, things are looking very good for the a live-action remake of the film. It is expected that Favreau will approach the African tale with a similar approach as his past projects, using photo-realistic creatures that are given voice by A-list names in Hollywood.

It has been assumed that plans for the movie have finally taken shape with production being scheduled for next month. However, as we mentioned earlier, we won’t be seeing this masterpiece in theaters until summer of 2019.
