Universal Studios Hollywood is continuing its long tradition of helping local families in need with its annual philanthropic “Christmas in Spring” event.

On Saturday, May 6th from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM, Santa Claus himself will join with Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer, Curious George, and more to bring a very early (but still very merry) Christmas to families in need in the Southern California city of Pacoima. Universal Studios is once again partnering with the M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need with Dignity) charity to make the event a possibility.

“With hundreds of Universal Studios Hollywood volunteer employees participating, this year’s ‘Christmas in Spring’ event will invite Santa Claus and very merry mischievous Minions to usher in a springtime holiday season. Families supported by M.E.N.D. will enjoy an afternoon of custom prepared food and interactive festivities from carnival games and face painters as well as a live D.J.”

Attending children will also receive a book of their choice and a large plush toy, plush each family will get a special keepsake photo with the Universal Studios characters on location that afternoon. An arts-and-crafts station will also be on hand thanks to the non-profit organization A Window Between Worlds.

This year’s “Christmas in Spring” event will take place Saturday, May 6th at 10641 San Fernando Rd. in Pacoima, California.
