UPDATE 4/27/2017: More renovations taking place at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa include new headboards made up of quarter-sawn oak that frame an orange tree mural overhead-with Chip n’ Dale playing in the branches. Found in the sleeper bed of select rooms is artwork of Bambi, along with other woodland creatures. Original designs of orange crate labels paying homage to Disney history hang along the walls.

The countertops of the room’s desk, dresser and coffee station encompass pieces of glass from wine bottles. Above the coffee bar you will find textured copper finishes, which was a common metal found in early Pasadena homes by Greene and Greene. All rooms are powered with the latest technological features which includes 55-inch smart TVs, Keurig Coffee makers and built-in USB chargers

“Our renovation adds more luxury to this iconic Southern California hotel, while staying committed to its signature Arts & Crafts design,” said Dan Coleman, General Manager of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. “We want our guests to feel they are staying in a Disney hotel that’s distinctly situated in beautiful California. The revitalized design helps convey this feeling and allows us to continue exceeding guest expectations.”

The redesigned pools and surrounding areas will feature new hardscapes from a variety of natural stones intended to create a warm and welcoming environment.

The new design for The Craftsman Club, the hotel’s concierge-level lounge, will draw inspiration from the architectural and furniture designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a visionary of the Glasgow Style of the Arts and Crafts movement. New hardwood flooring, custom-designed rugs, finely-crafted artisanal furniture and specially-commissioned art will add to the upscale tone of the Club.

The first phase of this ongoing renovation will be completed “soon” to be completed by the end of this year.
