Pixar Animation Studios’ highly-informative educational series “Pixar in a Box” has been running with the non-profit organization Khan Academy since 2015. The videos are enlightening for Pixar fans and essential for anyone curious about the basics of computer animation.

This week Pixar in a Box launched its third season, which will focus on the art of storytelling rather than the technical specifics of how Pixar makes its state-of-the-art animated features.

Similar to the Science Behind Pixar exhibit currently running at the California Science Center, Pixar in a Box seeks to apply the sciences kids learn in school– namely math, science, computer science, and humanities– to the tools used by Pixar in the creation of its internationally-acclaimed movies.

The Pixar in a Box series features interviews with some of Pixar’s most notable talent, including “Up” and “Inside Out” director Pete Docter, as seen in the trailer above. The videos are available to anyone for free at PixarInABox.com.
