This morning Disney and Lucasfilm announced the date for “Star Wars” Force Friday II, a global launch of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” merchandise.
Mark your calendars for September 1, 2017, and set your alarms for 12:01 am. At that exact moment, the toys, collectibles, books, and apparel that “Star Wars” have been waiting for will hit store shelves.
The packaging for this new line was also revealed this morning. It features a battle-ready Rey, Poe Dameron, and Finn.
For those that are unaware, the first Force Friday took place in 2015. People lined up outside stores for the chance to be among the first to grab the new products being put out for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Additionally, a global livestream unboxing event was hosted by Maker Studios creators. The event was insanely popular with millions of views on You Tube. Likewise, social media platforms were littered with #ForceFriday posts in which fans showed-off their new purchases.
Not much is known about this year’s event at this point other than “new technology” will be used to launch the weekend-long shopping celebration. As usual, all products for “The Last Jedi” will be kept secret until the actual #ForceFriday date, but fans can expect to see new characters from the film to appear in the product  line.
