Actor Richard Hatch passed away on February 7th.

Megacon 2014 Friday-223

Richard Hatch got his start in television on “All My Children” and got his big break as Inspector Dan Robbins (“The Streets of Sanfrancisco”).  Although he also made numerous guest appearances on various TV shows in the 1970s and 1980s, he best recognized for his roles in the science fiction series “Battlestar Galactica”- as Captain Apollo (in the original 1978-1979 ABC series) and as Tom Zarek in the 2004 reboot of “Battlestar Galactica” (the latter being a series he allegedly was not thrilled with as Universal chose a reboot instead of a sequel to the original series).

Hatch also played the Klingon Supreme Commander in a pair of independent Star Trek fan films, “Axanar” and “Prelude to Axanar” (2014). He also found his way into the realm of Steampunk (alongside Walter Koenig and Malcom McDowell in the film “Cowboys and Engines”).
