It’s just one week away! The Main Street Electrical Parade’s long-awaited return to its original home in Disneyland happens next Thursday, and with it comes a welcome reversion back to its previous form.

When the parade moved to the neighboring Disney California Adventure in 2001 (and later in its revival at Magic Kingdom park in Walt Disney World) the light-up text on the lead drum float was changed from “Main Street Electrical Parade” to “Disney’s Electrical Parade”, as you can see in the video below. The good news is that as of next week the famous drum will have returned to its original state!

According to the news release in the Disney Parks Blog, “The Main Street Electrical Parade was performed more than 3,600 times for more than 75 million guests during its original run in Disneyland park, and has been seen at Disney Parks around the world.”

The Main Street Electrical Parade re-opens for a limited time at Disneyland starting Friday, January 20th, with a special ticketed preview event the night before.
