Top 5 food finds at Epcot Holidays Around the World in Walt Disney World

in Disney, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World

This past holiday season, Epcot brought a bit of Food & Wine Festival to its Holidays Around the World. New fully-themed food booths were spaced throughout the park, and some seasonal offerings were temporarily added in many of the quick-service locations. We perused the park in search of incredible food finds this holiday season, and–admittedly–they were not in short supply. Nevertheless, here are our top picks.

COQUITO FROM FEAST OF THE THREE KINGS

img_4080

Coquito is the only beverage to have made the list, and it’s because it is THAT GOOD! This coconut-based beverage is traditionally served in Puerto Rico during Christmas and New Year’s Eve as a mixture of coconut milk, sweet condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves. It’s also common for it to be mixed with rum as an alcoholic beverage; however, at The Feast of the Three Kings food booth in the Future World section of Epcot, this tasty drink comes as an alcoholic and non-alcoholic option for guests. Honest to God, it is like a Christmas Party in your mouth, and it is the party of the season!

Coquito with an Oak & Palm Spiced Rum Floater $9

Coquito (non-alcoholic) $4

RICE CREAM FROM NORWAY

img_4108

Rice cream is traditionally found in many countries as a dessert made from rice mixed with milk, sugar and other ingredients. In Norway, the dish is called riskem and is often served with red sauce made from either strawberries or raspberries. This is exactly how it is served in Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe of the Norway Pavilion, and its simple recipe satisfies without becoming too heavy or too sweet.

Rice Cream with Strawberry Sauce $3.49

GINGERBREAD ICE CREAM FROM FRANCE

img_4126

Gingerbread flavor sounded like an incredibly odd choice for ice cream. We usually reserve that type of snap for cookies, and yet we had to try it because…Christmas. Well, for ginger fans, this one wins. The Glace Au Pain D’Epices or Gingerbread Ice Cream is found in the popular L’Artisan des Glaces of the France Pavilion. As a bonus, it comes with small gingerbread pieces in it, so you still get a little bit of that cookie crunch with the delicious dairy.

Single Scoop $4.69

Double Scoop $7.04

SACHERTORTE FROM ALPINE HAUS

img_4122

Sachertorte is a chocolate cake that finds its origins in Austria. In fact, it is so loved there that December 5 has been designated as National Sachertorte Day. This rich cake with apricot jam and dense dark chocolate coat is found at the new food booth, Alpine Haus, in the back of World Showcase for Holidays Around the World. And for chocolate lovers, it is a MUST DO!

Sachertorte Chocolate Cake with Apricot Jam and Dark Chocolate Glaze $4.75

SLOW ROASTED TURKEY FROM AMERICAN HOLIDAY TABLE

img_4115

When it comes to the holidays, sometimes nothing quite hits the spot like a good ol’ cut of Slow Roasted Turkey and some traditional holiday fixings. That is why this dish comes out as our very favorite offering at Epcot. Seated right near Saint Nick, himself, at the American Holiday Table food booth in the World Showcase, this dish of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and cranberry sauce wins! The portion size is decent enough to serve as a satisfying meal alone as long as you aren’t looking to go “butterball” from dinner. So if “American” is what you are hankering for this holiday season, this is the dish you don’t want to miss and our top food find for Epcot’s Holidays Around the World.

Slow Roasted Turkey served with Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, and Cranberry Sauce $11.25
