The Main Street Electrical Parade returns to Disneyland on Jan. 20, separate-ticket premiere event announced

in Disneyland Resort

Disneyland welcomes home The Main Street Electrical Parade on January 20, 2017 with nightly performances planned through Sunday, June 18.

If you want to be among the first to enjoy the legendary parade, which first left Disneyland Park in November 1996 and at Disney California Adventure in 2010, Disney is offering a separate-ticket premiere event on Thursday evening, January 19.

The after-hours event will also offer ticket holders exclusive access to select Disneyland attractions and restaurants from 7:30 to midnight.

Tickets to the special premiere event will go on sale for Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders on Tuesday, Dec. 6, and to the general public on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Tickets will be available for purchase at any Disneyland Resort ticket booth or by calling 714-781-INFO (714-781-4636). More info on the parade and the event can be found at Disneyland.com beginning Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Not only is the parade returning, but so is the original opening float that features “Disneyland Presents … Main Street Electrical Parade” in bright lights. Approximately half a million twinkling lights power the parade and its various floats, including the 23-foot-tall Clock Tower and Elliot, aka Pete’s Dragon, who weighs more than 5,600 pounds and is 16 feet tall.

Disneyland is celebrating the parade’s limited-time run with a specially decorated Main Street Electrical Parade boat in the 108th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, Dec. 14 through 18 in Newport Harbor. Mickey Mouse himself will serve as Grand Marshal for the popular boat parade on opening night, Wednesday, Dec. 14, along with Disney Ambassador Allie Kawamoto.
