Walt Disney World Expanding Alcohol Offerings at Magic Kingdom Theme Park

Four Walt Disney World restaurants at Magic Kingdom theme Park will be adding wine and beer to their menus, beginning December 23, 2016.

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, Liberty Tree Tavern, Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen, and Cinderella’s Royal Table will join Be Our Guest Restaurant as dining rooms that offer alcoholic beverages to Guests during lunch and dinner sittings. Following the guidelines of Be Our Guest Restaurant, the drinks will not be sold outside of these establishments, and to-go options will not actually be an option.

This places the Park a little further down a path that sharply veers away from rules established by Walt Disney, himself, who drew strict lines when it came to offering alcoholic beverages to Guests in his parks. This code of ethics was broken many years ago, and by 2012 drinks were being served in all four parks at Walt Disney World Resort. Now they will be served at almost every table-service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom.

The inclusion of drinks into the Magic Kingdom’s new restaurants will be more than a standard and monotonous selection of offerings listed on all the menus. The beverages offered will be tailored to fit with the theme and cuisine of each location and be paired with specific food items on those menus.
