VIDEOS: “Moana” debuts in style with song and dance at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood

As predicted, Disney’s newest animated feature “Moana” had a very strong opening Thanksgiving weekend at the box office. Beyond that, both the critical and audience reception to the movie has been fantastic. And nowhere is that more evident than at the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles, California.

Not only does the El Capitan offer its usual stellar presentation, terrific pre-show organist performance, and shiny Disney-approved decor, but in celebration of the release of “Moana”, the theater is hosting a Polynesian-inspired dance routine starring Moana herself before each movie, plus a tribute to the movies of directors Ron Clements and John Musker by the fantastic Side Street Strutters jazz band!

As if that weren’t enough, guests at the El Cap are greeted by a nifty, innovative three-panel video display showcasing some of the coolest-looking “Moana” concept art from the movie’s development process.
