Universal Studios Japan unveiled the first-ever Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter special event with an interactive “magical Christmas tree” located at the heart of Hogsmeade and extravagant decorations and theming throughout the area.
Actress and Harry Potter fan Suzu Hirose was on hand to help kick off the festivities on Thursday, Nov. 17 as Hogsmeade was transformed for the holidays. Along with a group of lucky Potter fans, Hirose cast a “Lumos Maxima” spell to light up the tree in an incredible way. All the nearby shops at Hogsmeade Village subsequently lit up with their special red, green, and gold holiday decorations one by one as snow fell.
“The Hogsmeade Christmas Tree is beautiful and like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I really soaked up the atmosphere of the Harry Potter world here. The wizarding world has shown a different face like never before.” Suzu said.
