Universal Orlando has still not indicated that any of its scheduled activities or park hours will be adjusted for the oncoming Hurricane Matthew. Even tonight’s event, Halloween Horror Nights, is still expected to operate as scheduled as of this moment. Universal posted this statement on its website this morning for  guests who are questioning if their vacation plans will be altered:

“Universal Orlando Resort is closely monitoring the weather, and at this time there are no changes to our operating hours.”

SeaWorld and Legoland are not as bold. SeaWorld announced yesterday that they would close today at 2pm. Discovery Cove will be closed early today as well, and SeaWorld’s Aquatica won’t even open it’s gates this morning. Tomorrow all three of SeaWorld Entertainment’s properties will remain bolted.

Legoland is taking a similar approach with its gates closing early today and shutting out guests tomorrow as well.

For Florida residents needing shelter during the heavy rains and wind expected to hit this afternoon, Rosen Hotels & Resorts in Orlando have extended a discount. Orlando Sentinel reports that these “distress rates” range from $55 to $105 and apply to those that have been evacuated from their homes due to the storm.
