Larson, who starred in last year’s critically-acclaimed Room, will play Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in a role she was heavily rumored to be the front-runner for.

EW reports that the character almost made an appearance in a tag scene for Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Marvel didn’t have an actress cast in the role just yet. With several Marvel films lined up before her film hits theaters in 2019, we can be sure to see her in a cameo soon enough.
