Welcome back to another trip around the World in Disney Tidbits. Today we are checking in on Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see what is happening in this ever-changing park.
When we arrived a storm was in progress and the security measure that we are usually used to had switched up quite a bit. No bag check or metal detector walk through in the usual area.
The bag check was instead being done underneath the coverage of the main entrance.
Typical Florida weather with cloudy skies.
Hollywood Studios is now the designated Star Wars park and you notice that really quick with the lightsabers on sale as soon as you walk into the park.
Welcome to the streets of Hollywood.
Finding Dory merchandise can be found a plenty in the park shops right now.
It was a pretty slow day in the park, this summer season in general has seen lower crowds.
We decided to make a visit to Mickey and Minnie’s new home, Red Carpet Dreams. I heard a lot about the posters in the queue “coming alive” but I only spotted one of them doing so. You can see our experience in the video below.
Looked around in the shops to see what was new in the Disney t-shirt world.
New Disney World Resort mug.
Next up we decided to check out the new Pete’s Dragon preview at One Man’s Dream. The preview includes a introduction by the movie’s star Bryce Dalls Howard and an extended clip from the movie. Can’t say that any of us were especially excited about this movie but this preview really changed our minds. The movie looks to be full of heart and some amazing graphics, make sure you make a visit to this preview.
The exit gift shop already features some Pete’s Dragon merchandise.
Elena of Avalor merchandise has also debuted in the park. Disney is quite clearly hoping this will be their next big Disney Junior star.
The treat shop Sweet Spells now features some crazy whoopie pies in some interesting flavors like maple bacon.
After a trip on Tower of Terror make sure you take a peek at the very cool themed shop windows at the exit.
Cupcake selection at the Starbucks location.
Star Wars themed drinks are still in hot demand inside Hollywood Studios.
We ended our nights with the ‘Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular’ fireworks show that recently received some really cool fire effects upgrades.
Come back soon for more Disney Park updates in Disney Tidbits!
