Do you remember the last time you survived something like this?

Me neither. In fact, being blasted by the lightning force of a thousand storms and then being literally thrown out a window seems like just about the most un-survivable thing somebody could actually experience…that is, unless you’re a bada** like Samuel L. Jackson.

See, the actor is quite sure that his character Mace Windu has completely survived this catastrophe. Check out this little social media back-and-forth with a fan:

Entertainment Weekly then asked Jackson about his theory/wishful thinking that Mace was still alive when he stopped by their radio show on Wednesday morning to chat on EW Morning Live and here’s what he had to say. “Of course he is! Jedi can fall from amazing distances. And there’s a long history of one-handed Jedi. So why not?”

When they asked what Mace been up to since falling out of Palpatine’s tower — laying low like Obi-Wan did on Tatooine? “Exactly,” says Jackson.

When asked if he’s shared this idea with the powers-that-be behind the franchise: “Only George [Lucas],” says Jackson. “But George doesn’t have anything to do with it anymore.” And what was Lucas’ reaction? “George is like, ‘I’m okay with that. You can be alive.”

For all things Star Wars, stick with ITM!
