Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman, to be President of the United States in CW’s “Supergirl”

The CW, having recently picked up the Supergirl series that CBS cancelled, is giving its new show a full hero’s treatment.

Announced today, Lynda Carter will be taking on the role Commander in Chief.  America’s favorite Wonder Woman trades the lasso of truth and the Invisible Jet for Air Force One in Supergirl’s second season. Carter will be making her first appearance in third episode, as part of a multi-episode story arc. (source: Nerdist)

This wondrous announcement comes on the heels of another super revelation.  Earlier this month ITM reported that Superman will make a full appearance (not a boot or blurred image) in the first two episodes of the Supergirl series (see that story here).   According to Variety magazine,  Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) will be stepping into the red boots and cape as Superman, Kara’s Kryptonite cousin.

CW will air Supergirl in the same time slot that CBS did in its first season: Monday nights at 8pm.  This means that DC dominates the CW with its super heroes franchises, and gives us hope for more amazing cross-over stories.  Current line up: Supergirl on Mondays, The Flash on Tuesdays, Arrow on Wednesdays and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursdays.  Now if only they could find some sort of Dynamic Duo or King of the Seas to round out the week. . .
