According to Touringplans, the popular Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort at Walt Disney World will soon see its food court shut down for a very lengthy refurbishment and will undergo a significant remodeling. The food court called Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory will be closing its doors on July 11 and then will be closed for at least a couple of months with plans on opening again some time in the fall. No specific opening date has been released.
Disney is going to be offering their resort guests an alternative dining location in Scat Cat’s Lounge that will be serving New Orleans-inspired food such as jambalaya, po-boy sandwiches, gumbo, and more.
Resort guests can also head over to Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside and enjoy either the Riverside Mill Food Court or enjoy dinner at Boatwright’s Dining Hall.
