This one’s for the collectors out there — and I know there are lots of you.

There are a ton of unique items to be auctioned by next month by Van Eaton Galleries, and they’re from an age of Disney past! The auction is said to feature a total of 700 items from the dawn of The Walt Disney Company, and includes books, movie memorabilia and toys, as well as drawings from “Steamboat Willie” and “Plane Crazy”. For those not in the know, those are the very first Mickey and Minnie Mouse cartoons. Wow!

Van Eaton Galleries is proud to present “COLLECTING DISNEY“, an exhibition and auction. “Collecting Disney” is an extraordinary auction devoted to the history of Walt Disney Studios and features items from some of the finest collections in the world. With memorabilia dating from the very beginning of the Studio, to expansion into feature film and beyond, this one-of-a-kind rare auction is an unprecedented glimpse into the personal and professional life of Walt Disney, his close group of animators and artists, the studio and the amazing legacy that lives on today. The auction features over 700 rare and many never-seen-before items.

Auction date: Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 am PT

You can check out the full list here, but here are a few of the standouts:

  • The original score from the first Mickey Mouse song, “Minnie’s Yoo-Hoo” from 1929. The document is expected to sell for $15,000 to $20,000.
  • Some of the original 1930 Mickey Mouse dolls, along with Donald Duck and Pluto, are listed for several thousand dollars each.
  • A vintage Mickey Mouse doll signed by Walt Disney is going for a bit more: $25,000 to $50,000.

The “Collecting Disney” auction includes items directly from the estate of Annette Funicello that will be auctioned to benefit The Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases. That’s some amazing material for a great cause.
