This one’s a bit of a no-brainer. “Deadpool” is one of the most tremendously successful first-entries of a superhero franchise in recent memory, so of course it’s going to get a sequel.

Despite originating and appearing in Marvel Comics, Deadpool falls under the X-Men family of characters, and therefore his movie rights are currently held by 20th Century Fox. The studio has released all of the existing “X-Men” movies so far, as well as three (less successful) “Fantastic Four” films.

At the CinemaCon movie exhibitor trade show in Las Vegas this week, Fox officially confirmed the already-rumored second entry in the Deadpool series, with star Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller returning, and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick once again penning the script.

So Deadpool fans can rest easy, you’ve got more big-screen smart-mouthed mayhem coming your way from 20th Century Fox.
