Whoa, this is heavy Doc.

Multiple reports are coming in that Universal Studios Japan will be shutting down the last remaining “Back to the Future” attraction on May 31, 2016.

While it made it to October 21, 2015, which was celebrated as “Back to the Future Day” by fans at Universal Studios theme parks worldwide, the news that the final remaining attraction based on the hit 1985 movie is closing will surely disappoint fans both in Japan and abroad.

The first “Back to the Future: The Ride” opened at Universal Studios Florida on May 2, 1991 and later arrived at Universal Studios Hollywood on June 12, 1993. Both closed in 2007 to make room for “The Simpsons Ride”.

It opened at Universal Studios Japan on March 31, 2001 and was still a fan favorite to this day, though the “Back to the Future” gift shop was replaced with a “Despicable Me” theme last year and renamed Minion Mart.

The simulator ride starred Dr. Emmett L. Brown as he tried to assist guests in their time traveling quest to stop Biff Tannen. The original footage of the ride still exists as a bonus feature in the film’s home video release on DVD and Blu-ray.

What are your favorite memories of this classic ride (and did anyone manage to get a copy of that Sports Almanac)?
