Convention Season is upon us – MARCHing in on full power!

The holidays are behind us and the new year is fully engaged, time for some fan fun!  Convention season is here and OTM has learned of a few fun fan festivals taking place the first weekend in March:

The Omni Expo (March 4-6 at the Double Tree across from Universal) offers some enticing opportunities and diverse entertainment.

With a chance to win a trip to the Netherlands to compete at Anime Con 2016’s International Cosplay Competition, Clara Cow’s Cosplay Cup is the perfect place for aspiring cosplayers to show their skills!  Or perhaps the $1000 Best in Show Grand Prize at the Masquerade Costume Contest is preferred? Keeping the competitive spirit going the first weekend in March, Omni Expo also offers a Suicide Karaoke Competition and the Star Central Dance Tournament.

Additional entertainment excitement includes an Assassin’s Creed Renaissance themed formal ball and Celebrity dinner; YouTube’s How it Should Have Ended;  weekend-long live action role playing (LARP) at the Total Drama Expo; a Star Wars: Darkside Training School Boffer Pit : The Hexagon: a table top gaming room; and Club Omni, an 80’s retro video dance party.

Fans will be able to meet celebrities like RJ Haddy from Face Off; Brian Beacock (Takato from Digimon Tamers); Paul St Peter (Xemnas of Kingdom Hearts); Kevin Duhaney (Cameron in Total Drama Island & Ethan/Blue Dino Thundar Ranger of Power Rangers Dino Thunder); and Jeff Parazzo (Trent/White Dino Thunder Ranger from Power Rangers Dino Thunder).

As a bonus, Supernatural Fans and car enthusiasts are sure to appreciate – a replica of Lilith – Back in Black, the classic Impala from the series will be on hand for photo ops.

Treasure Coast Freak Show

Finally for something a little different, there’s the Treasure Coast Freak Show (March 4-6) in Fort Pierce, FL. “The Freak Show is a presentation of classic sideshows found in a travelling circus in the early 1900’s”

The event will feature photo ops and autographs of the various performers, including X-men and Halloween actor Tyler Mane, American Horror Story’s Naomi Grossman and Jennifer Lynn Warren; Krampus’ Rob Archer; Ari Lehman (the first actor to play Jason in Friday the 13th); Danica Rockwood; Theodus Crane; and Travis Love (Shumpert on The Walking Dead).
