Sorcerer Mickey’s ever changing locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

in Walt Disney World

Where familiarities used to reside, the memories are now transferring over to where things used to be located. It’s becoming more and more clear that the Streets of America district of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing a massive change. Gone forever are the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, the Backlot Tour, the meet and greet locations for the Disney/Pixar Cars stars Lightning McQueen and Mater, and even Phineas and Ferb have said farewell. And then a new notice just came up with more upcoming closures (you can read exactly what those locations are by clicking here), so it comes as no surprise why a replacement for the replacement greeting location closed last fall.

When the Magic of Disney Animation Pavilion closed in July of 2015 to make way for the Star Wars Launch Bay, Sorcerer Mickey and his leading lady Minnie along with pals Hiro and Baymax all got the boot. The Sorcerer made his way to the former Backlot Tour entrance queue, Minnie found a spot in the Animation Courtyard sporting a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse inspired backdrop and the Big Hero 6 duo left the park all together with only Baymax returning at Epcot; warm hugs are available once again, yet no Hiro to offer up his famous knuckle pounds.

Everyone’s favorite magical mouse is currently meeting in the former location that housed the short lived ‘Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow’ attraction. Most recently, this location was the home to the air conditioned cooling station during the 2015 Summer.

So for now it seems, this has been Mickey’s new home since last October. You’ll find this location just before the Pixar courtyard as you pass One Man’s Dream.

As more announcements of change find their place in the spotlight, we’ll be right here bringing the news to you.
