This past Thursday (January 7th), the Orlando Museum of Art hosted another monthly First Thursday event that would make Jules Verne and HG Wells proud. “Dreams of Steam” sailed into Orlando with performances and artwork featuring a Steampunk theme.  For those unfamiliar with this creative style of science fiction – Wikipedia describes it as such “Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction and sometimes fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.”

The OMA Website described the event:

This show calls upon airship captains, explorers, gypsies and tinkers to send us your musings, your art, artistry and artifacts from Steampunk Realms. Whatever your media, bring the worlds envisioned by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells to life at Dreams of Steam.
