The Force Awakens the world of fashion by joining together for a new charity initiative

Disney Consumer Products has joined forces with Bloomingdale’s in a high fashion fundraiser called Star Wars “Force 4 Fashion.”

The purpose of Star Wars: Force For Change is to empower people to choose to make a positive impact on the world around them. “Force 4 Fashion” is part of a global initiative that celebrates the special connection between film and fashion.

Launching in NYC, the heart of the fashion world, this event will showcase outfits and looks inspired by characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, from 11 well-known fashion designers. Designers who participated in this high fashion event include Diane von Furstenberg, Giles Deacon, Billy Reid, Cynthia Rowley, Halston, Opening Ceremony, Ovadia & Sons, Parker, rag & bone, Timo Weiland and Todd Snyder.

After the kick-off event on December 3, the designers’ looks will be displayed in Bloomingdale’s NYC flagship windows. From December 2-18, the outfits will be auctioned off by Bloomingdale’s on CharityBuzz.com. All proceeds will be donated to Child Mind Institute on behalf of Star Wars: Force For Change.
