PHOTOS: Breakfast lands in Epcot at Garden Grill Restaurant

With the holiday season swiftly arriving, Walt Disney World has been increasing its dining options across its theme parks to help meet with the increased crowds that will soon descend onto the resort.

Last week, Disney’s Hollywood Studios premiered a new breakfast at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant (you can read that post here) and now this week, it was Epcot showing off its new breakfast offering inside The Land Pavilion.

Things start off with a little character once you’re seated for the all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast. The options are already preselected for you, but if you have dietary restrictions, just let your server know and they’ll have a chef come out and speak with you. Just after your beverage selections are made, your table will start off with Chip’s Sticky Bun Cake. Think of a giant cinnamon roll that’s baked in a skillet, served warm with a vanilla icing that’s literally the icing on the cake.

Once you’re satisfied with Chip’s deliciously crafted creation, its time to move forward with the main course. You’ll get a selection of assorted, freshly cut fruits along with a bountiful platter of breakfast favorites. Warm buttermilk biscuits with country sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, hash brown style potato barrels (tater-tots), sliced ham steak, and though it says thick cut bacon, its actually thinly sliced (but still tasty) crispy bacon and those famously delicious Mickey Waffles.

Included with the breakfast platter was a trio of toppings, including an spice apple chutney and salsa fresca.

What makes this breakfast unique, is the ambiance of the restaurant itself, along with the visiting Disney Characters that make stops table side to greet you with their boisterous charms.

Garden Grill is located on the second floor of The Land Pavilion, but it’s no ordinary restaurant. Moving past its grander of being an all-you-care-to-enjoy dining destination, the seating floor of the restaurant rotates around in a circle giving guests a vantage point overlooking the  “Living With The Land” attraction.

And though it’s a pretty attractive quality to have for a restaurant, what pulls the crowds are the characters. The meal is hosted by Farmer Mickey, with Chip & Dale and Pluto joining him.

For the price of a character meal, it’s fairly reasonable when you consider the endless supply of breakfast offerings. The quality of the food didn’t stand out as spectacular; it’s a basic breakfast with its humble selection, but still worth a visit especially for Chip’s Sticky Bun Cake.
