Disney and Lucasfilm have set a date and a location for the world premiere of the highly-anticipated “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” with other screenings set worldwide.

Hollywood Reporter has learned that the premiere will be held in Los Angeles on Dec. 14, followed by a London premiere as part of a worldwide series of events heralding the arrival of the seventh installment of the “Star Wars” franchise.

Additionally, the site is also reporting that there will be minimal screenings for the press or cast and crew before the world premiere — likely to avoid any leaks about the plot or any further details on the film.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be released in U.S. theaters on Dec. 18 but will arrive two days earlier in France and on the 17th in the United Kingdom.
