Second “Disneyland Forever” fireworks show added each night during Thanksgiving week

Huge crowds are expected to flood Disneyland Resort this coming Thanksgiving, and park operations is coming up with new and innovative ways to help manage the ebb and flow of attendance, especially when it comes to the heavily-trafficked early evening hours.

One method they will be using this year is adding a second, earlier “Disneyland Forever” anniversary fireworks show at 6:30 PM (an hour that will be dark after the “fall back” of daylight savings time has transpired.) While featuring two fireworks shows in one night at the park has been a rare occurrence, it is not without precedent: in the past it has happened on the Fourth of July, New Year’s Eve, and on the day celebrating the “Diamond” 60th anniversary this past summer.

According to Disney insiders, the strategy of adding a second fireworks show may continue to be utilized in the future to help thin out crowds if this experiment proves successful. Also available during Thanksgiving week will be two shows each of the “Christmas Fantasy” parade, the “Paint the Night” parade, and of course the ever-popular “Fantasmic!”
