Disney releases updated film release schedule: dates set for “Incredibles 2”, “Cars 3” while “Toy Story 4” delayed

Disney has announced changes and new release dates to their upcoming slate of 19 feature films, it was announced Thursday.

“Toy Story 4” has been delayed by a year while “Cars 3” is now scheduled to be released on June 16, 2017 — the original date set for the latest sequel in Pixar’s Toy Story franchise, which is now set for release on June 15, 2018.

A year later, “Incredibles 2” will be released to movie theaters on June 21, 2019. Two more untitled Pixar films will be released on March 13 and June 19, 2020.

As part of the previously-announced Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney announced the sequel “Ant-Man and the Wasp” arriving July 6, 2018 as well as “Captain Marvel”, “Black Panther” and three more untitled Marvel Studios films set to be released May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020.

“Black Panther” has been moved five months ahead from July 6, 2018, to February 16, 2018 while “Captain Marvel” has been delayed eight months and will arrive in theaters March 8, 2018.

Live-action remakes of Disney classics, which have to be revealed, will also arrive in the next few years. The first will be released on December 22, 2017 with the next one following a year later on November 2. Two more will be released in 2019 — on March 29 and November 8. A live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast” will also be released March 17, 2017.
