Since the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress resort completed a massive $54 million renovation just a couple years ago, the Orlando hotel located just outside Walt Disney World has continued to improve its already impressive features.
I recently returned to the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress to see how well the renovations have held up over the last two years and to check out its latest additions. Indeed this hotel remains among the most inviting and enjoyable in the city, largely for its vast variety of amenities.
The now-completed lobby looks better than ever, with their new bar offering good food and drinks with plenty of comfortable seating.
Beds have been upgraded in all of the rooms, quite soft and comfortable but just firm enough for a great night’s sleep.
There’s plenty of room to spread out in the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress’s rooms, though the half shower doors are not good for those who tend to splash around, guaranteed to leave water everywhere.
No one at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress will spend much time in their rooms though, as the hotel’s grounds are what continue to surprise and amaze.
The pool grotto is a wonderful place to relax. Like with my last visit, I easily fell asleep poolside tucked away beneath a soothing waterfall.
Beachside activities are plentiful, both on land and in the hotel’s massive lake.
New to the resort are Stand Up Paddle boards, adding to the already fun line-up of kayaks and other watercraft.
Those looking to stay dry can easily find ways of enjoying themselves at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. Wandering away from the beach, guests will discover beautiful winding pathways surrounded by lush landscaping.
While the Grand Cypress has several world class golf courses, not everyone is quite up to par with that level of play – so to speak. So the Hyatt Regency has a small Pitch and Putt course that’s perfect for those who want to swing some clubs without getting into too much trouble.
And after a “hard” day of activities, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress’ new Marilyn Monroe Spa gives plenty of opportunities for relaxation, including massages, manicures, and pedicures.
The views from high atop the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress’ tall tower are always gorgeous, but never more so than during a golden Florida sunset.
It’s amazing that such a large resort is hidden so well near Walt Disney World, easy to overlook but definitely worth looking into.
