The days of the selfie stick use in Disney theme parks will soon be over. According to Wesh on June 30th a new policy will take effect limiting selfie sticks not just from Disney Parks attractions but from the parks itself too.

Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty explains the new policy this way: “We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately selfie sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast.” It wasn’t too long ago that Disney Parks but up signs banning the popular camera tool from attractions but apparently that didn’t help much.Just this Wednesday the California Screamin’ roller coaster at Disney California Adventures Park had to make an emergency stop after a guest pulled out a selfie stick on the ride.

Selfie sticks will from June 30th not be allowed past bag check and guest will have the option to check them in for pickup at the main entrance.
