“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” had a big presence at New York Toy Fair this past weekend.

From Hasbro to LEGO to many independent toy makers, the message was clear that there are huge amounts of Episode VII toys on the way this year. And from booth to booth, every company with a “The Force Awakens” display shared one common detail:

They had absolutely nothing to show.

It’s not that these companies aren’t excited about their products. It’s not that they don’t want to talk about them. It’s not that they don’t want the world to see them.

It’s just that they can’t. Logos for “The Force Awakens” were everywhere, taking up large amounts of shelf space and plastered across huge walls. And this:

There’s no doubt all the big companies will have product lines devoted to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” as the movie’s release grows near. But for now, we’ve seen nothing, exactly as the filmmakers have intended.

One can assume the types of products that will be released based on existing product lines of these companies, but specifics were impossible to come by.

But that’s not to say there wasn’t an exciting “Star Wars” announcement at Toy Fair. Spin Master released a teaser for their upcoming Legendary Yoda toy, that seemingly wields a lightsaber while spinning around. They will be revealing that toy fully at the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim in April.
