It’s not quite the first time in forever anymore as Frozen Fun expands across the country.

Walt Disney World’s popular “Frozen” themed sing-along has jumped coasts, recently debuting at the Disneyland Resort together with a new snowy playground.

Frozen Fun, as the event is called, has taken over the Hollywood Land area of the Disney California Adventure theme park. Beginning with the Freeze the Night dance party plus character meet-and-greets, the event has now expanded to take over the former MuppetVision 3D theater, transforming it into Arendelle.

Stepping inside the sing-along theater places guests into Arendelle castle, walking past lavish artwork in highly themed halls, just like seen in the “Frozen” film.

Parks and Cons was there to capture the new entertainment for us.

California’s version of the show is largely the same in content, though makes some changes to the show’s story, involving the Royal Historians more closely as Anna and Elsa help to make one of the characters officially part of the Arendelle royal staff. Most notably, the theater is far more detailed than its Walt Disney World counterpart, inheriting a lot of decor from the MuppetVision 3D days. Snow effects take place during the “Let It Go” finale, like in Florida, also adding icy projections along the walls, enhancing the performance. And throughout the show, backgrounds are animated projections rather than stills.

Nearby, Olaf’s Snow Fest has opened, bringing the Olaf meet-and-greet inside along with an icy adventure that includes sledding and a chance to build a snowman.

The sing-along is now performed multiple times a day at Disney California Adventure, officially debuting with the rest of the Frozen Fun entertainment on January 7, 2015.
