Tomorrow Universal Orlando will officially grand open the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. Throughout its recent preview days, visitors have raved about its massively immersive environment, extreme attention to detail, and overall sense of theme park magic.
After dark, all of the best parts of Diagon Alley come to life in bright, vibrant colors, even illuminated by the occasional firework and blast of dragon’s fire. Though a trip through the always-darkened Knockturn Alley results in a mysterious adventure by day or night.
The long exposure photos below give a good look at how Diagon Alley appears at the end of each day, glowing from its London waterfront entrance to Gringotts Bank at the back and everything in between.
The fireworks seen above can be seen every night in Diagon Alley, produced from the park’s Cinematic Spectacular lagoon show. They’re not constant bursts, but complimentary to the projected images seen in the show, so patience is required to see them within the Wizarding World.
The dragon perched atop Gringotts Bank breathes fire every 15 minutes or so and while it’s possible that someday moment will happen at the same time as a fireworks burst, it’s not currently specifically timed that way. So through a little photo compositing magic, the photos below offer a look at what that double pyrotechnics event would look like.
