Mango’s Entertainment today announced the world’s tallest roller coaster is coming to Orlando. Its name will be the Skyscraper, opening in 2016 topping off at 570 feet tall.

The Skyscraper, designed by US Thrill Rides, will be located on International Drive and Sand Lake Road as part of a new area called the Skyplex which will include a restaurant at the top with observation deck as well as plenty of stores.

“Next to our theme parks, International Drive is one of the most recognized icons of Orlando,” said Visit Orlando president and CEO George Aguel. “It’s exciting for our tourism community to see this type of investment being made to continuously raise the bar on the dining and entertainment experiences we offer across our destination.”

Orlando’s Skyscraper roller coaster will be the first of many “Polercoasters” planned for other cities, a commanding tower featuring tracks spiraling up and down with outside loops, dives, spirals and inversions.

The $200 million Skyplex will comprise approximately 495,000 square feet located on 12 prime acres and will include Mango’s Tropical Cafe Orlando from the same owners. Skyplex will also include a 1,500-car parking garage with valet parking available.
