Diagon Alley 360: Interactive panoramic views of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion at Universal Orlando

in Entertainment, Theme Parks, Universal Orlando

Today Universal Orlando guests who booked special vacation packages will get their first chance to visit Diagon Alley. It will be the first opportunity for paying Universal guests to enter the new area, as all previous previews have been for press, VIPs, executives, and employees.

Vacation package holders have been given 2-hour windows in which they may enjoy all that Diagon Alley has to offer, little by little over the next few days. Those who haven’t booked these packages have been patiently waiting outside the barricades, hoping Universal will hold a soft opening for the area. It hasn’t happened yet and it may not at all before the official opening date of July 8.

For those who haven’t been inside and aren’t able to quite yet, we’ve already shared more than 4 hours of video covering everything from this Harry Potter expansion. And now below we have a new interactive way to peek inside.

We captured 360-degree panoramic images of Diagon Alley during its media preview a couple weeks ago, both during the nighttime red carpet event and the next day’s press festivities.

Click and drag in the interactive images below to look around Diagon Alley. Use the little + and – buttons to zoom in and out.

Also included below each are static versions of the panoramas, one completely flattened and the other spherical for a particularly unique perspective of the new area. (The day shots are a little glitchy due to so many people walking around while capturing the images, so try to ignore the ghostly people.)
