For a few years, the Florida Anime Experience aims to correct what they see as a trending generalization of similar conventions. While massive events like MegaCon encompass all sorts of pop culture, from comics to movies to merchandise and more, FAE focuses specifically on anime, manga and Japanese pop culture alone.
Though a relatively small convention, Florida Anime Experience still entertained several hundred attendees this past weekend in Orlando, Fla., uniting fans of all things anime. Unique merchandise, food, cosplay, and presentations filled the weekend of Japanese-influenced fun.
The world of anime always inspires uniquely colorful costumes. At Florida Anime Experience, cosplayers showed off their own creative outfits.
Popular cosplayer Alexa Karii was on hand to offer her thoughts on the ins and outs of the craft.
An assortment of Japanese goodies were also for sale on the show floor.
The rest of the event was filled with video games, movie watching, crafts, presentations, and refreshments including boba tea.
The Florida Anime Experience will return to Orlando in 2015. More information can be found at FloridaAnime.com.
