Butterbeer ice cream, magic drinks, British fare to be served in Diagon Alley as Universal Orlando’s new Potter cuisine

in Food, Theme Parks, Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando has revealed the inventive new food and beverage options that will be served up this summer in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. New dining experiences and unique flavors have been created exclusively for the new land.

Based on the books and films, the food Universal Orlando has crafted will feature imported ingredients from England and quite a few treats guests will only be able to get in this expansion.

Leaky Cauldron

The popular wizarding pub and inn will serve British dishes such as Bangers and Mash (traditional roasted sausages with creamy mashed potatoes), Fisherman’s Pie (salmon, shrimp and cod baked together under a potato crust), Toad in the Hole (traditional sausage baked into a Yorkshire pudding and served with onion gravy), Fish and Chips, and the Ploughman’s, which is a feast of English cheese, crusty bread, cornichon pickles, apple beet salad, Branston pickle and a Scotch egg. New draught beers created exclusively for the land include Wizard’s Brew and Dragon Scale. Pumpkin Juice and Butterbeer will be served as well, alongside new beverages Fishy Green Ale and Tongue Tying Lemon Squash.

Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour

Yes, Butterbeer ice cream is happening. Straight out of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” Florean Fortescue’s will feature 20 unique ice-cream flavors including Earl Grey and Lavender, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Chili, Clotted Cream, Salted Caramel Blondie, Apple Crumble, Strawberry and Peanut-Butter, and Orange Marmalade. The Butterbeer ice cream will be a soft-serve variety. Also available will be a variety of fresh pastries, scones, tarts and sweet cakes.

Eternelle’s Elixir of Refreshment

In Horizont Alley, a street branching off Diagon Alley, guests will find “magical elixers” (flavor packets, essentially) named Draught of Peace, Babbling Beverage, Elixir to Induce Euphoria and Fire Protection Potion. These “elixirs” will be added to Gillywater to create drinks.

More delicious details can be found on the official Universal Orlando Blog.

The opening date of Diagon Alley has not yet been announced, but will likely arrive between June 20 and June 29.
